What is a Projection Designer?

A Projection Designer creates multi media (still and moving images) for live performances and events. Digital video projectors are used which project this media onto sets of varying materials, shapes and sizes. Media is either played back through various kinds of computer software, or can be played back from a dvd in a dvd player.

What are my skills?

I am fluent in Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, and After Effects. I also have skills as a photographer and camera operator.

I am fluent in the industry leading playback software Watchout. I have worked numerous shows with the program, and have no problems creating shows of varying sizes with it.

I am also fluent in Isadora, which is not only playback software, but offers Projection Designers the opportunity to manipulate video ‘live’ during a performance.

What can I do for you?

My primary experience is in theatre. I have been working in theatre since I was 13 years old in various capacities. I have trained and performed as a professional actor, and I have also directed and written my own work. I have designed for small 100 seat theatres to some of the largest theatres in Canada.

My extensive experience in theatre has prepared me to design for any situation. With my skill set I am also able to design for music concerts, conferences, live events, and weddings.
